Portraits Of Ireland (POI) is more than a website, it is a community of artists dispersed throughout Ireland from rural areas to urban Dublin and Belfast. There is no strict criteria for Artists displaying their work on this site. POI is open to all from amateur to full time professionals. The origins of POI lie in the rural Irish tradition of local artists undertaking commissions from friends and neighbours creating beautiful gifts for birthdays and weddings. It is our aim to connect artists to clients across the world. Some of the pieces of artwork displayed on this site are for sale, some are guides to the particular artists style.
POI enables you to give a very special and personal gift to someone who means a great deal to you, or you could treat yourself! We can provide an artist to commission a drawing or painting of someone or someplace special to you or a loved one. This individual or location must be on the Island of Ireland. We work closely with you the commissioner our customer, to produce a totally unique piece of art only you will possess.
